River, royal court, border, villages, mosques: five stages make up the Road of Kings, from the Comoé to Bondoukou, through the Akan and Bron kingdoms of eastern Côte d'Ivoire.

Five stages, one at a time
Every node on the trail opens a stage: the Comoé River and its gallery forests, the royal court of Abengourou, the border market of Niablé-Osséikro, the royal villages of the Djuablin, the banco mosques of Bondoukou. The route is never a straight line — it follows the real laterite track.
Stage 01 · Gallery forests
The Comoé River
The trail opens on the Comoé River and its gallery forests, just outside Abengourou. The water is never blue here: it's a savanna river, lined with water lilies, that changes character with the season.
Driving time : About 20 min on track from the Verger
Stage 02 · Kingdom of Indénié
Abengourou
Abengourou is the capital of the Indénié kingdom. The Royal Palace and its Museum are open to visitors, including the court's oldest building, built roughly two centuries ago in clay and timber. The cathedral, craft workshops and markets are all within walking distance, close to the Espace Le Verger.

Stage 03 · Ghanaian border
Niablé — Osséikro
At Niablé-Osséikro, 30 km from the Ghanaian border, cross-border markets mix languages and currencies. It's a stop about daily life as much as shopping, on both the Ivorian and the Ghanaian side.

Stage 04 · Royal villages
Djuablin
The Djuablin kingdom is crossed through its royal villages, where Akan traditions are still lived — practised daily, not staged for visitors. The narrow, sewn bands of kita weaving have one of their roots here.

Stage 05 · Bron country
Bondoukou
Bondoukou, in Bron country, is known for its old banco mosques, with rönier-wood beams jutting from the walls. Some are fragile, worn by time: living heritage, not restored for the camera.

Three packages
A progression, not a single fixed trip
